Today we were all hanging out in the living room, kids watching Elmo, playing, etc. I showed Mel a fairly disturbing picture from the book I'm reading*, and quietly explained, "It's his lobotomy."
Maggie piped up, "I wanna see the little-bottom-y!"
*My Lobotomy by Howard Dully. A fascinating and horrifying memoir from a fellow who had a lobotomy back in the 60s when he was just 12 years old. The picture in question is of the guy in mid-procedure.
